Will Smith now do to Logan Brown what Boucher did to Nick Paul? What a waste that would be! |

Ahhhh, great point! Certainly makes you wonder. But Logan Brown's injuries have hurt him too. But great comparison! |

I truly get the feeling that management is trying to trade Logan at all costs! Personally, I would put him in every position to succeed during pre-season games and let the chips fall where they may. The biggest issue has been his health and right now, management is selling as low as can be. So why not see if he can make this current roster as there are a few holes at center and RW. Just saying!

I remember watching a line of Tkachuk, Duclair and Logan Brown and thinking how great they were. I know Brown has been injured a lot but I don't understand why that would put him in a coach's doghouse.
I'm with you 100 percent. Play the guy and play him not on the fourth line for five minutes a game but further up the lineup with decent minutes. Sink or swim, Logan. |

Hi guys, I need help. How I can go to latest Sens blog. On my iPhone I can see just the newest piece in the front page. I check in the menu and not find. Thanks |

Great write up.
The Ben Johnston thing was huge. Ironically if he'd kept his mouth shut he might have kept his medal. He got bad legal advice.
I remember exactly where I was when the Space Shuttle blew up.
I like Nick Paul. I like that deal proposed too. I love guys who have to earn it through adversity. Logan Brown is a bust. He can't play hurt. "are you hurt or are you injured".....he's soft and everyone knows it. Including potential trade partners.
I went to senschirp.....just a bunch of people arguing about vaccines and ripping Trudeau. I hear enough of that everywhere else. I just want to talk Sens and hockey here. |

Ben Johnson testing positive for steroids is the exact example I was going to bring up.
Next is the Jays winning the two championships |

Per Simmer, Tkachuk camp really frustrated by the offer Ottawa have proposed. Not surprised, Melnyk still our owner |

Could be seeing Alfredsson 2.0 here. |

Not sure I see the point. Alfredsson signed a very team-friendly deal when he was an RFA, and played 18 years for the Senators. It was only when he wanted ~$5M as a 40yo that there was an issue.

The Senators are clearly trying to lock Tkachuk in long-term at ~$7M AAV, while also working hard to remain like $12.56 above the salary floor. The Tkachuk camp already said they wouldn't sign on like that until there was evidence that the team was going to commit to winning, and the Senators have done pretty close to jack $hit for most of the off-season, beyond shedding more $$$. So the question is for how long does this nonsense go on before they just agree to a 2-3yr bridge deal.

Copied from the last blog’s comment thread regarding people with RW concerns…
Batherson, C. Brown, White, Watson. I’m not that worried with those four penciled in at RW. I’m more concerned about C, if you keep White on the wing.
For example:
Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Stüztle (L. Brown?) C. Brown
Paul Tierney White
Formenton (Bishop/Kelly?) Watson
Assuming Pinto and Sokolov start in Belleville. I’m not sure I trust L. Brown as a second line center. Have Tierney and White as our #2 and #3 centres? I don’t like that much either.
In the above lines I suggested, if you bring in a decent C to play with Stützle and C. Brown, it makes the top 6 fairly competent. It pushes L. Brown down to play on a third line with two of White, Formenton, Paul, etc.. It honestly would be pretty good for where we’re at in terms of team development. But who knows, maybe Logan Brown comes into camp with something to prove and surprises everybody.
People keep bringing up Trochek. Like White, he can play either C or RW. So I like the versatility. But of all the names being bounced around, the only one I think it’s worth spending assets on is Hertl. But he’s also the guy I feel is the least likely to end up in Ottawa.
Or we go all in on Jack Eichel. Lol |

Can they not just ban this kind of obvious spam? This account is 1 day old, and has been used to post 5 times to this thread alone, including one where the term "interwebs" is used. That alone should be enough to prove it's some kind of damn 'bot, because no human being would say that in 2021.

Love the Batherson signing. Great cost and good term. |

The best way to get Tkachuk to eventually sign longer-term may be something like a Little Big Horn move. Give him a bridge deal now, and then get Stutzle, Norris, and Sanderson to join Chabot/Batherson in signing major long-term deals over the next couple of years, in order to generate more of a pressure/expectation within the team for its leaders to make a long-term commitment. If Tkachuk still won't sign long-term after the bridge deal is up and all those other players have made their commitment, then you trade him and move on. |

Nice to see Batherson commit but can't help but feel the term is a little long. Colin White has scared me. I do think Batherson is a legitimate top 9 forward, possibly more. Step in the right direction to get Brady to ink a deal. Good day. |

I can understand the concern, but I really think Batherson is more of a clear top-6 forward than White. He showed a lot more AHL development, has the size you know the team loves, and has virtually no competition at RW. It also helps to consider the fact that he'll be making less than 1/2 of what Marner earns, vs. having a very realistic chance of providing ~3/4 of his offensive production.
As for White, even if he's no more than a #3C and/or #2/3RW, he's really only marginally overpaid vs. a guy like Tierney. Plus, he's still just ~3.5yrs into his pro-career, and could easily keep developing. It would also probably help if the team stopped jerking him around in terms of role. Going from playing with Mark Stone, to starting the year in the press box would make it rather tricky to maintain a consistent level of production. Regardless, his versatility, especially at RW, makes him a more valuable piece than some might think. |
